Pronouncing Finance
How do you pronounce the word FINANCE ?.
I've always pronounced it /fɪn'æns/ with the stress on the second syllable (f/i/nance) but everyone looks at me like they have no idea of what I'm talking about.
/f'aɪnæns/ with the stress on the first syllable (f/igh/nance) seems to be the preferred pronunciation around here.
Both pronunciations are correct but I'll stick to "f/igh/nance" for the sake of clarity.
